Yikes it's September!!! What in tarnation is happening with the clock? The time she is a flying. We survived Irene. Lost power for a bit and some tree limbs arrived in our yard uninvited but we were very blessed . Some of our neighbors were without power for the week and Our neighbors to the north have had a very tough time. Vermont of all places.....floods and terrible aftermath of that nasty lady. A blizzard I can understand but hurricane? That shouldn't be.
Here's a picture of the ocean in the middle of the big blow. We had to stay in the car to take the picture since the wind was wild and the sand was blasting. I'm surprised the car still has paint.
This is normally a very serene scene. The water rarely gets more than a slappy little wave or two.
So that's the news around here. We are getting back to normal and now? Summer's almost at an end. The farmers' markets will go on and on though. We have been appreciating the bounty of our local farmers. Tomatoes are coming out of our ears but sooooo good. We also had some mighty good home baked goods. Here's a look at our recent haul.
