Southern Ten Commandments

I lived in Texas for 3 years some time ago and I look back on those years with a great deal of fondness.  I knew before I got there that this is a big wide world.  I knew that there is more to people than their accents, their dress codes and their cultural idiosyncrasies.  All of the fantastically tolerant liberals in our current arena should  take a breath and realize that intelligence is more than sounding intelligent.  Here is an email from a Texan friend of mine.

Ten Commandments

Some people have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in the Ten Commandments. Southern Country Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, in middle Tennessee they translated the 'King James' into ' Jackson County ' language.....No Joke (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro , TN ).

(1) Just one God.

(2) Put nothin' before God

(3) Watch yer mouth

(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'

(5) Honor yer Ma & Pa

(6) No killin'

(7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal

(8) Don't take what ain't yers

(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'

(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff

Now that's plain an' simple.

Y'all have a nice day now, ya hear!

And bless your little heart....

Gotta Love It

This is so funny!  Thanks to my friend in Mississippi.

Da End is Near

Reverend Boudreaux was the part time pastor of the local Cajun Baptist church and Pastor Thibodaux was the minister of the Covenant SwamptownChurch down the way. They were both standing by the road, pounding a sign into the ground that read:

"Da End is Near. Turn Yo Sef ' Roun Now Afore

It Be Too Late!"

As a car sped past them, the driver leaned out of his window and yelled, "You stinkin' religious Wackoes!"

From around the curve they heard screeching tires, loud screams, and a huge splash ~ Then silence.

Boudreaux turns to Thibodaux and asks: "Do ya tink maybe da sign should jus say 'bridge out'"?

Ya Tink?

A Fable of Sorts

Have you ever seen a baby porcupine? Me either. These came in the mail today and as usual, I share. Who couldn't love this little dickens?

Fable of the porcupine

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the
cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided
to group together. This way they covered and protected
themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest
companions even though they gave off heat to each other.
After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one
from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen.

So they had to make a choice:

Either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely,
they decided to go back to being together. This way they
learned to live with the little wounds that were caused by the
close relationship with their companion, but the most important part of it, was the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.

Moral of the story:

The best relationship is not the one that brings
together perfect people, but the best is when each individual
learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire
the other person's good qualities.

In Other Words

LEARN TO LOVE THE PRICKS IN YOUR LIFE.

Home Again

Back from vacation and let me tell you....this was the best BEST vacation ever!

The Hubster turned 65 and for the first time in over 40 years he celebrated with his kids.  Tears and smiles and hugs and sobs, yes, all of the above.  So there was that.  I was an emotional bystander enjoying the whole thing.  He, and me too since I was with him, was wined and dined and toasted and just loved to bits.  It was so wonderful to see the used to be wife and in-laws enjoying him and him them.  We shed a few tears of regret that we couldn't have connected sooner but honestly?  God knows the right time and circumstance and He surely put this together in the best of ways.

Weather was fabulous, warm and humid and just like summer.  Shorts and tee shirts and sandals, how could a vacation be otherwise?  It was in the 40's and 30's here at home and just lovely to be warm for that brief time before the winter door slams shut.

Following the week with the kids and ex in-laws we went for a drive to visit my used to. be college room mate and her family.  Within 15 minutes we were 18 again and reliving every nonsensical adventure we ever had.  The husbands went along very patiently with our screaming bursts of uncontrollable laughter, her sons just stood back in awe over the fact that their very competent mom could be a very silly school girl shrieking, laughing over what seemed to be nothing and me joining right in.  We laughed, we drank and ate and talked and walked and then started all over again.  Can't wait to see her and her hubs again and this time it won't take 20 years to do it...after all, we don't have 20 years.

My friend from Mississippi who sends the very funny emails has been sending more of the same since we left and I MUST share this one with you.  I have missed this periodic posting and will be jumping all over this blog now that I have returned.  I have a bunch of stuff to fill you in on.

I leave you with a laugh
IRISH GHOST STORY

John Bradford, a 20 yr old college student, was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. No cars were traveling that night. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.

Suddenly, he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stop. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door.... only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!!

The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand repeatedly came through the window, but never touched or harmed him.
Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road. So, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to the pub. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just had.

A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying and....wasn't drunk.

Suddenly the door opened and two other people walked in from the stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath. Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other.....

'Look Paddy...there's that freaking idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it.'

Kinda funny

We're heading for Mississippi shortly to see my husband's kids and celebrate his birthday. Lots going on here with the house renovation and I am mighty glad to be heading south. A friend just sent me a picture via email of what we might see when we get there. This is an ice cream truck in Mississippi:

Just Sayin'

Yet another email and I love it:

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't,

written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,

to be signed by a president who also smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,

and financed by a country that's broke.

What the hell could possibly go wrong?

Smile Some More

Another email from a dear friend....just in time for a much needed chuckle

COLOR IS GOOD

Yesterday I went to the doctor

For my yearly physical.

My blood pressure was high.

My cholesterol was high. I'd gained some weight,

and I didn't feel so hot.

My doctor said eating right

doesn't have to be complicated and

it would solve my physical problems.

He said:

"Just think in colors.

Fill your plate with bright colors.

Try some greens, oranges, reds,

maybe something yellow, etc. "

So I went right home

and ate an entire bowl of

bright colors

And sure enough,

I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy!!

Now stay healthy,

eat your colors,

and have a nice day

Getting ready

Well, as usual, if it isn't one thing it's another.  We are in a perfect storm of things we have to do.  Our used to be primary residence is finally on the market and that is never a  peaceful thing.  Our agent is good (we think, and hope) but there are still things that pry their way into your serene and blissful life.

While that is happening, we are getting ready to do work on what used to be our weekend/summer/maybe all year round house so that we can live in it all year round.  It needs things like closets, storage, a room large enough for more than 4 people and a bedroom where you can actually have a dresser as well as a bed in the same place.   We are stretching the budget here because, until the other house sells, we will be living on fumes.  It will be done and we will do it.  My husband works from home and his office is here in the house being renovated.  We have to live here while the destruction/construction is ongoing.  We will have the use of  the living room, downstairs bath, our current bedroom and the spare room which will hold all of the everything from the upstairs bath, hall storage closet and used to be guest room.  Our kitchen is being enlarged (praise God) and will be out of commission.  All cabinets are currently being emptied by yours truly and stored in the garage.

Hopefully the work will begin the week of the 18th when we have out of state company arriving.  They will be at a motel but we will be entertaining them by touring and out to dinner and so forth.  We leave for Mississippi  on the 21st and will be gone until the 1st or 2nd and so have to be packed and ready for that.  I am lucky I know where my toothbrush is.

The house for sale has a couple of very interested people looking and looking again.  Watch.  The house will sell and we will have to empty it out by the 1st.  Oh man.  That would be good news and bad news for sure.

Meanwhile I sit here writing and searching the net for stress relief and here is some.  Ready for Halloween.

Hurricane Horror

We are waiting today for torrential downpours and high winds.  It should have hit sometime yesterday and didn't.  This morning we were told that today would be cloudy and high winds would start (by now) and the heavy rain would bring up to 3 inches by the end of the day.  Right now it is in the 70's and brilliantly sunny.  There is a gentle breeze wafting in the windows to take the humid edge off the air.  What is with the news people and their hyper ventilation?  Not too long ago we were inundated with warnings and watches and omg Help me Hannah about Hurricane Earl.  That went on for days.  Neighbors boarded up windows and cleared the supermarket shelves of candles and bottled water.  People planning on staying for the week closed up and went home early.  A friend sent me an e-mail showing the terrible devastation of Hurricane Earl....let me share it with you

I surely hope the weather men are as accurate this time as they were before.

Good Day

This whole "Burn a Koran" thing has evidently fizzled out.  The pastor who was going to burn that book said that God told him the mosque will be moved.  OK!  Somehow, the conclusion of this mess is as nutty as the beginning and the middle.  No way does it prove that we are caving in to the nonsense of the muslim world.  Note that I did not Capitalize muslim.  I won't give that belief that kind of respect.  The only thing that this incident has done is to prove to the viewing and listening world that this belief system is one with no respect for human life, no civilized behaviors and no redeeming qualities at all.  Now, I guess, I await my beheading or flogging or stoning since that is what these people, yes, I said these people, think is the right way to deal with dissent.

I am so done with this TOLERANCE issue.

I say good day.

Kinda Fun

Some words of wisdom from another email - from a dear friend......

Bumper sticker of the year:
'If you can read this, thank a teacher -and, since it's in English, thank a soldier'

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When I was young we used to go 'skinny dipping,' now I just 'chunky dunk.'

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?
A completely brillant question!!!!!!!

Wouldn't you know it....Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed outside?
Another completely brilliant question
!!!!

Another Stimulus

(updated 9/30/10 -forgot to attribute this gem to another email )

Sometime  this year, we taxpayers will again receive  another 'Economic Stimulus' payment.

This is indeed a very exciting program, and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format:

Q. What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ?

A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q.. Where will the government get this money?

A.  From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?

A. Only a smidgen of it.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?

A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?

A. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.S. economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:
* If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China or Sri Lanka ..
* If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India , Taiwan or China ..
* If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala ...
* If you buy an efficient car, it will go to Japan or Korea ..
* If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan ..
* If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and  they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in America by:

 1) Spending it at yard sales, or
 2) Going to ball games, or
 3) Spending it on prostitutes, or
 4) Beer or
 5) Tattoos

(These are the only American businesses still operating in the U.S.)

Conclusion:

Go to a ball game with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a yard sale and drink beer all day !

No need to thank me, I'm just glad I could be of help.

Ain't this the truth?

Sent via email by a dear friend.

LADIES YEARLY EXAM

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. The nurse starts with certain basics...

How much do you weigh?' she asks.

'135,' I say.

The nurse put me on the scale. It turns out my weight is 180.

The nurse asks, 'Your height?'
'5 foot 4,' I say.

The nurse checked and saw that I only measure 5' 2'.

She then took my blood pr essure and told me it is very high.

'Of course it's high!' I scream, 'When I came in here I was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!'

She put me on Prozac.. What a BIOTCH..

Little Known Info

Some Little Known Information which arrived today in an email from my cousin.

Manure : In the 16th and 17th centuries before the invention of commercial fertilizers, everything had to be transported by ship, so large shipments of manure were quite common.

It was shipped dry because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is methane gas (of course). As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen: methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction “stow high in transit” on them, which meant the sailors had to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.  Thus evolved the term “S.H.I.T” (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.
You probably did not know the true history of this word.

Neither did I.
I always thought it was a golf term.

Hot and Heavy

Just a quick update -  the doggie girl is fine and dandy.  Several hundreds of dollars later, x-rays and such we are glad to hear that nothing untoward is causing the stomach upset.  Maybe a change of food will take care of the situation and a change in the weather to less hot and humid.  It's really too hot to type.  It started to rain so I'm hoping for a cool down and a dry breeze.  Well I can hope can't I?

I'll be back when that happens or when we put in an air conditioner.

Doggie Woes of Sorts

Our puppy girl has had another bout of the up chucks.  I think it's the heat and humidity and hubby, of course, thinks the worst.  Until her appointment next week, she is on chicken and rice and teensy tiny bits of her own food.  She loves it.  It constipates her.  The rice, I'm sure.  I understand that.  Hubby thinks the worst is even worser.  I found this on some blog somewhere while searching for what could be making the girl vomit.  I found it so funny that I sent it via email to the hubster.  He did not find it so amusing.  I think you might though.  Here it is:

The four types of dog vomit

YELLOW URKA-GURKA

Dog runs around the house and hides under furniture while making a prolonged ‘uuuuurka-guuuuurka, uuurka-guurka’ noise. (This noise is the only thing guaranteed to wake up a true dog lover who is hung over from a post dog-show celebration at 3:30 a.m.) After mad scrambling to capture the dog and drag him outside, the episode ends with an inaudible ten yard slimy yellow froth from the living room rug to the back door.

BLAP DISEASE

Dog exercises hard and (a) eats large mouthfuls of snow (winter Blap Disease) or (b) drinks a bucket of water (Summer Blap Disease). Within two minutes of returning inside, the dog spews out large amounts of clear slimy liquid while making a distinctive ‘blap’ sound and a sharp percussive noise as it hits the linoleum.

GARKS

Dog suddenly clears his throat with loud and dramatic ‘gggaark, gggark’ noises generally followed by prolonged ‘iiiksss’ and then loud satisfied smacking noises. There is nothing on the rug. Don’t investigate, you don’t want to know.

RALFS

Apropos of nothing, the dog strolls into the dining room and waits till the innocent dinner guests are all watching him. Then, with a single deep gut wrenching ‘raaaalff’ dislodges the entire weeks’ contents of his stomach on the dining room rug.

Variation: Then he eats it.

In all the above events the dog is entirely healthy and indeed deeply pleased with himself.

Summer Season

Summer is here for sure.  The houses between here and the beach are filling up.  The renters are here.  The kids are playing in the streets.  Flags are waving and birds are singing and it sure is beautiful.

Here's the morning walk but now there are more flags.

Here's the beach at the end of that walk.   This is at high tide and now there are people on the beach.

Around here the seasons are not only about weather.  The numbers of people here change with the seasons.

A Day of God's Blessings

Well. I think God is hearing me and smiting them one at a time. Good bye Helen. About time I say.
So, I'll take it. Strip them of their masks bit by bit and sooner or later they'll all be standing there like the emperor stitch starch nekkid. That's ok. Not boils or frogs but it works.

More good news. Today, I went for my walk later than usual and what did I see? This
Yes indeed. The Bluebird of Happiness. That was my father's favorite song by the way. Well, maybe not the most favorite but a favorite. He could pick that out on the piano with two or three fingers.
Be like I, hold your head up high,
Till you find a bluebird of happiness.
You will find greater peace of mind
Knowing there's a bluebird of happiness.
And when he sings to you,
Though you're deep in blue,
You will see a ray of light creep through,
And so remember this, life is no abyss,
Somewhere there's a bluebird of happiness.
Then, what to my wondering eyes doth appear?
Man, God is always with us isn't He? What a wonderful day this has been. Hope all of you had the same good stuff going on. We are so Blessed.

A Plague upon Them

Wow.  It's been a long time since I've been here.  Wish I had tons of things to regale you with that caused my hiatus but, sad to say, it ain't so.  Life has just bubbled along and I have been like flotsam and jetsum bobbing and bubbling along with the current.  Graduation party here, shower there, vomiting dog here, trip to the vet, chicken and rice for her (better dinner than ours in most cases), laundry, water the lawn, sit and read and talk on the phone.  There it is.  My life.

I have omitted the countless outbursts of rage against our current administration and the main stream propaganda arm of theirs.  I have ranted about the nonsense that is being thrown at Israel and have prayed fervently for God to step in and smite someone...rain down those hot coals Sir, show Iran who the real boss is............................please, please please.  Sigh...

I know He is in charge and since I read the end of the Book, I know we'll be okay but seriously folks, don't you want just a couple of the old plagues to hit that fool in Iran?  Don't you want that UN crew to have boils and frogs and such?  Maybe the big O could have a small jolt of pain whenever he tells a lie.  One that would make him say "Youch"  and jump a little.  Something!  Just something!

Well, maybe you'll be all righteous and say "We just pray for their well being and leave all the rest to God".  Me?  I'm for the smiting and plaguing.

The More Things change - The More They Stay the Same

When I was in college I wrote a paper for some class where I used the technique of anthropomorphism. I argued against foreign aid by setting up the United States and the foreign aid recipient country as if the USA were the parent and the recipient country the child. I had just completed a psych course and this Social Studies course seemed the ideal guinea pig for my sophomoric theories. Well, I posed all of the good parenting skills that we had just learned and tried to answer the seemingly never answered question, “Why, oh why, do they hate us?”. I said that when we treat these countries like idiot children without the skills and abilities to care for themselves, when we mindlessly shower gifts upon them that are useless, unearned and truly undeserved, when we patronize them and pat them on the heads and then say go away and let the grown ups talk…..sure, they hate us and then show their contempt by accepting any and every good thing we give them and rub our noses in whatever the gifts should have been by breaking them throwing them away etc etc. Well, we had just learned that spoiling the child thing and the lack of respect the child develops for the parent. I was told that I was foolishly simplistic. The complexities of foreign diplomacy could not be reduced to simple one on one human interaction. “Why?” I asked. “It seems to me that everything has to be reduced to that since the whole process boils down to one person interacting with another.” “Run along and grow up " I was told.

I wrote that quite some time ago....things have not changed have they?  I wrote that paper in 1962.  More than 40 years later the elitists are still trying to complicate the simplest of things aren't they?  Maybe I just haven't grown up yet.  In my opinion this concept can be brought in to our domestic policy of welfare...can it not?

Ta-Da! Pictures Have Popped.

Finally, the pictures have been pried out of that nifty little camera....well, now, that was easy!!  Not for me.  My husband the computer GENIUS (and he is) finally sat down and made it work.  He is a self employed computer consultant and you know how that shoemaker's kids saying goes?  yes.  they had no shoes.  Same with the computer genius' spouse.  Oh what the hey...it all comes together event-u-walleee.

Now...here is a taste of the Nantucket Daffodils Weekend old car parade and dog show.  Fun!

How fun is that?  Lots.  Oh, by the way, I have sixty bazillion pictures to dazzle you with.  Brace yourselves.

Happy Mothers' Day

Eleven years ago today my mother passed away.  My neice always remembers Nana's birthday and anniversary date of her passing and when she calls me she will always say, "and Nana said we wouldn't remember her when she was gone."  My mother did say that.  I almost believe that she willed herself to pass on Mother's Day so that we wouldn't forget, ever.

One of her favorite stories was "The Little Match Girl".  She loved the drama and tragic ending and the tears.  Just a small glimpse into her Cinderella fantasy world.  She would tell us that when she was a girl they would wear carnations to church on Mothers' Day.  A pink carnation meant that your mother was alive and a white carnation meant that your mother was dead.  She told us that she always felt sorry for those in church wearing white carnations.  Well we would naturally say that we were so glad our carnations would be pink and then she would be pleased.

Here are my flowers today Mom and I wish they could be pink.  I'll bet that Mom is pleased.  Love you Mother.

The View

Happy Spring.. The view from my window....ok so this is last year but the view today is the same except for the for sale sign.  That house has sold and we will have new neighbors.  A young couple with a six year old.  This will be their summer home.  It's a very nice house.  Obviously in a very nice neighborhood.  Seems that for some the economy is not too bad.   For that we are grateful.

The Agony of DePictures

I have dozens of the best pictures ever from Daffodil days and the new camera I used to take them is refusing to release them to my computer.  I have loaded and reloaded and unloaded and uploaded and downloaded and?  Nothing.  Zip.  Zero.  Nada.  Blank screens and really bad language.  That be it.

By the time I manage to unload them I will be unable to remember where they were taken and who those people are.

At least I have managed to restrain myself from throwing that danged thing out the window.  I must now return to the task of uninstalling and reinstalling and grinding my teeth.  Thanks for listening.

The Miracle

C. S. Lewis, Miracles (New York: Macmillan, 1947), 112, 115-17.

The central miracle asserted by Christians is the Incarnation. They say that God became Man. Every other miracle prepares for this, or exhibits this, or results from this. . . .

In the Christian story God descends to re-ascend. He comes down; down from the heights of absolute being into time and space, down into humanity . . . down to the very roots and sea-bed of the Nature He has created.

But He goes down to come up again and bring the ruined world up with Him. One has the picture of a strong man stooping lower and lower to get himself underneath some great complicated burden. He must stoop in order to lift, he must almost disappear under the load before he incredibly straightens his back and marches off with the whole mass swaying on his shoulders.

Or one may think of a diver, first reducing himself to nakedness, then glancing in mid-air, then gone with a splash, vanished, rushing down through green and warm water into black and cold water, down through increasing pressure into the death-like region of ooze and slime and old decay; then up again, back to colour and light, his lungs almost bursting, till suddenly he breaks surface again, holding in his hand the dripping, precious thing that he went down to recover. He and it are both coloured now that they have come up into the light: down below, where it lay colourless in the dark, he lost his colour, too.

In this descent and re-ascent everyone will recognise a familiar pattern: a thing written all over the world. It is the pattern of all vegetable life. It must belittle itself into something hard, small and deathlike, it must fall into the ground: thence the new life re-ascends.

It is the pattern of all animal generation too. There is descent from the full and perfect organisms into the spermatozoon and ovum, and in the dark womb a life at first inferior in kind to that of the species which is being reproduced: then the slow ascent to the perfect embryo, to the living, conscious baby, and finally to the adult.

So it is also in our moral and emotional life. The first innocent and spontaneous desires have to submit to the deathlike process of control or total denial: but from that there is a re-ascent to fully formed character in which the strength of the original material all operates but in a new way. Death and Rebirth–go down to go up–it is a key principle. Through this bottleneck, this belittlement, the highroad nearly always lies.

The doctrine of the Incarnation, if accepted, puts this principle even more emphatically at the centre. The pattern is there in Nature because it was first there in God. All the instances of it which I have mentioned turn out to be but transpositions of the Divine theme into a minor key. I am not now referring simply to the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. The total pattern, of which they are only the turning point, is the real Death and Re-birth: for certainly no seed ever fell from so fair a tree into so dark and cold a soil as would furnish more than a faint analogy to this huge descent and re-ascension in which God dredged the salt and oozy bottom of Creation.

Thank You Lord for Miracles.

Easter Round Up

Sorting through the Easter activities and things have really turned around.  We are having a new septic system put in and right now the house is almost inaccessible.  The size of this thing is unreal.  We have a teeny tiny house and the system we have to install takes up more land than the house does.  There is a moat that runs along the house on two sides.  I say we could flush a bazillion more times than we ever have in all the years of the house's existence and it will still never be full.  Oh well.  For that reason we have changed plans to have the whole fam here as we usually do.  There is no parking available and with the rain, the mud and muck is everywhere.  Easier to go out and go out we shall.  Meanwhile I still have to clean and such since my nephew will be with us for the weekend.

Oh and yes, at the moment we only have one car since on the way back home on Tuesday my husband went through what he thought was a puddle and instead it was a lake.  The car ran for a while after that but then stopped.  Fortunately he was able to coast into a rest area and call AAA.  Naturally parts have to be ordered and blah blah blah, might take until Monday to be back with us.  So, as you see, business as usual here.

I will probably be back before Easter but just in case I don't have a thought to share, let me share this one.

Something I needed Today

All of this nonsense being imposed upon us by power grabbing, morally bankrupt leftists led by that man who lied and posed to get into office has disturbed me greatly.  I needed this and I think there are more of us out there than the press will let us know about who need it too.

HUMBLING, ISN'T IT?
Especially when you know our sun is just one of many in this mix

And yet, God knows how many hairs are on your head;

and, not even a single sparrow dies apart from His will.

(Mt. 10:29-31)!

NOW HOW BIG ARE YOU?

AND, HOW BIG ARE THE THINGS THAT UPSET YOU TODAY?

AND

HOW BIG IS YOUR GOD?

KEEP LIFE IN PERSPECTIVE!

Our God is the Creator of everything and is on His throne in charge of the same.

Thank You Lord.

Back from the Gulf Coast

I'm here.  Even I find it hard to believe.  Went on vacation to Gulfport MS and intended to say hi from there but life got in the way and now, I am down with a NASTY cold that has settled in my chest.  The cough comes from the bowels of the earth and does nothing except leave me exhausted and with sore diaphragm muscles.  Aches and pains everywhere and Yes! I went to the doctor who said go home and rest, take aspirin, here's a prescription for that cough and see you in a week or two.  So that's what I am doing.  The cough medicine hits me over the head and puts me into a coma.  I don't cough though.  I am going to put my head down and not think about those suitcases that need unpacking.  I also feel as fat as a goat.  Just so's ya know.
